Locomotive 3638 at the Old Selati Station Platform (2017)

A hauntingly beautiful view of the SAR Class 24 No. 3638 steam locomotive at the historic Skukuza station. Captured in 2017, this image shows the train as a static exhibit under the original corrugated iron roofing of Platform 5, long before the area was transformed into the modern Kruger Station dining and cultural hub. It represents the end of an era for the Selati Railway Line, which played a foundational role in the creation of the Kruger National Park.
