Bat-eared Foxes, Namib-Naukluft Area
Description
A rare sighting of three Bat-eared Foxes (Otocyon megalotis) foraging along a remote gravel road in the Namib-Naukluft region of Namibia. Named for their oversized ears used to detect insect prey underground, these small canids are perfectly adapted to the arid environments of the Namib Desert. The image captures the animals in an alert posture against a vast landscape of golden grasslands and distant rugged mountains, typical of Namibia’s expansive wilderness.
