Grey Go-away-bird Perched at Ngepi Camp, Namibia

Description

An alert Grey Go-away-bird (Corythaixoides concolor) captured perched on a gnarled branch at Ngepi Camp in the Zambezi Region of Northern Namibia. The photo highlights the bird's signature tall, wispy crest and uniform smoky-grey plumage against a lush, green background. Known for its distinct nasal "kwa-way" call that warns wildlife of intruders, this member of the Turaco family is a classic sight in the African bush. Photographed with a Nikon D3200 along the banks of the Kavango River.
